In order to ensure that your upcoming landscaping project goes to plan, you should take these two actions before you get started.
Address any annoying faults your lawnmower has developed
If your lawnmower has developed a multitude of small faults which, whilst they have not stopped it from functioning, have made it frustrating to use, then you should track down the nearest lawnmower repair company and send your equipment off for repairs.
The reason for this is as follows; these small faults could cause spoil the results of your landscaping project. For example, if your lawnmower sometimes leaks engine oil, and you use it to trim the lawn you laid during the project, you may end up dripping oil all over this new grass. This may result in you having to use some scissors to trim the oily blades of grass by hand, or it might lead to you having to re-sod several areas (if the oil has totally saturated these spots). By getting a mower repair person to locate the cause of this oil leak and then fix it, you can mow any new turf you lay without having to worry that you might ruin its appearance and have to spend time restoring it.
Likewise, if your lawnmower randomly stalls and takes a while to start again after this happens, you might find that your efforts to spruce up your lawn during this landscaping project take several times longer than expected. Having a mower repair company address the issue that is causing the equipment to stall should allow you to finish this portion of the project far more quickly.
Create a blank canvas
When you finally finish off your design plan and gather together all of the landscaping materials you need, you will probably find yourself very eager to get started. If your garden is currently a total mess, but you want to dive straight into the project, you might tell yourself that you can simply clean up sections of it when you need to do work in those particular areas. However, even if it means postponing your landscaping project for a week or so, it is best to clear out your garden entirely before you begin.
The reason for this is as follows; if for example, your garden not only resembles a jungle but is also filled with old lawn furniture, random outdoor toys and lots of disused planter pots and decorative items, then trying to do landscaping in it will be very hard. If for instance, you clear out one small area of the garden in order to landscape it and this area is surrounded by mess, you won't have enough space to neatly lay out your tools and materials and will instead have to keep them in a pile beside you (which might increase the chances of you stepping on them and damaging them, tripping over them or having to waste time sifting through this disorganised pile to locate the smaller items you need).
You may also find that you end up dragging out this project for several extra weeks, simply because you know that each time you venture out into the garden, you will have to devote time to clearing out the area you need to work on before you can begin. As such, it's best to get this unpleasant chore out of the way at the start so that you'll have a blank canvas to work with.
